Featured! “Waves and Wonders” Takes Center Stage at Regional Portal Day
I am beyond excited (and a little bit pinch-me-is-this-real?) to announce that our Waves and Wonders residency has been officially selected as a Featured Project for the upcoming Arts in Education Regional Portal Day at the Garage Theatre, Monaghan!

Out of so many incredible collaborations across the country, our work with the Senior Infants at Navan Educate Together N.S. has been chosen to showcase the power of the TAP+ (Teacher-Artist Partnership) model.
Why “Featured”?
This selection recognises the deep collaborative journey between myself and the wonderful Oonagh Gilsenan. It celebrates how we took a simple natural element. the humble pebble and used it to unlock a world of literacy, logic, and “Maths in Disguise” for 25 amazing children.
The Garage Theatre Takeover
As a featured project, we aren’t just sharing our story; we are inviting the audience into the “Waves and Wonders” world.
- We’ll be showcasing our Project Booklet (the visual heart of our journey).
- We’ll be running a live, interactive 70-minute session.
- And yes… the Posh Pebbles from Killiney Beach are coming with us!
A Moment for Púróga
For me, this is a beautiful milestone for Púróga. It proves that mixed-media art and natural materials have a vital place in the modern classroom. It’s about more than just painting stones; it’s about fostering curiosity, confidence, and that “pure state of play.”
A massive thank you to the Arts in Education Portal team for this selection, and to Oonagh for being the best partner an artist could ask for.
Monaghan, here we come!
